Hemp Depot Wholesale CBD-A Winterized CO2 Crude 40% Oil provides a premium crude oil option that’s supercritical CO2 extracted. CO2 extraction is already a standard extraction method for the food, dry cleaning, and herbal supplement industries. It is a common food additive as well. In fact, CO2 is used to produce carbonated soft drinks, for the removal of caffeine from coffee beans for decaffeinated coffee, as an environmentally friendly solvent for dry cleaning, and as an extraction solvent when producing essential oils. The use of supercritical CO2 as a solvent is also common in the herbal supplement industry when pesticides and metals are removed from agricultural crops without adulterating the desired constituents from the plant matter. The CO2 extraction process allows compounds to be extracted with little damage and low toxicity; it utilizes a high-pressure vessel containing cannabis, which then has supercritical CO2 inserted into the vessel, and pumped through a filter where it is separated from the plant matter once the pressure is released. Finally, the supercritical CO2 evaporates and is dissolved into the cannabinoids.

What Is CO2-Extracted CBD-A Winterized Crude Oil?
Full-spectrum CBDa oil is considered a true hemp oil since it contains all of its original naturally-occurring compounds. Full-spectrum CBDa crude oil is high in CBDa but also includes all cannabinoids, terpenes, flavonoids, phytochemical compounds, natural minerals, and other bioactive compounds. Crude oil is the closest option available in terms of mimicking the whole plant material of hemp. Crude oil must be further refined in order to create distillate. Our CO2-extracted Full-Spectrum CBDa Crude Oil offers a highly potent, premium option. It does not include any naturally-occurring plant waxes, unlike our alcohol-extracted crude oil.
CBDA vs CBD
Cannabinoids that have the suffix -a are referred to as acidic cannabinoids. CBDa is the precursor to CBD. CBDa is converted to CBD through decarboxylation or when exposed to heat or prolonged light.
Full-Spectrum CBDa Crude Oil Benefits
Full-spectrum CBDa crude oil is often celebrated for its ability to closely mimic the original chemical makeup of the hemp plant. CBDa oil can be used as-is or formulated into a wide variety of CBD products. This CO2-extracted oil is more refined and may be beneficial for certain product formulations.
What Product Formulations Are Possible With Full-Spectrum CBD Crude Oil?
It is important to consider the taste and appearance of crude oil when formulating CBDa products. Our Full-Spectrum CBDa Crude Oil can be formulated into a number of product applications including ingestibles, topicals, suppositories, and more.
Formulation Guidance for Full-Spectrum CBDa Crude Oil
Crude oil has a smoke point of 332 degrees Fahrenheit. Do not exceed this temperature in the formulation process in order to maintain cannabinoid potency and quality.
